296.pngwendy’s recently came out with a fish fillet sandwich called the premium fish fillet sandwich- yes i know, super original. rumor has it that they did so as an answer to lent. and if you’re catholic, boy are you in for a treat.

so how does it compare? obviously i have to compare it to the joint that makes the best fish fillet sandwich, mcdonald’s. and you’ll be surprised to learn that even at 50 cents to a dollar more, there’s a new winner. i would definitely rule that wendy’s fish fillet is better tasting than mcdonald’s- at a close contest.

let’s start with what’s the same. both have the same kind of lettuce at the same amount. both have the same kind of tarter sauce. both fillet’s are equal in size. with an equal size fillet, you would think wendy’s being 50 cents to a dollar more is a bit of a rip-off. but ohhhh it’s not.

mcdonald’s fillet is random fish meat from all over, machine processed into a perfect rectangular shape. wendy’s fillet is pure cod from northern pacific and hand-cut (not a perfect rectangle). mcdonald’s is breaded on a conveyor belt. wendy’s is hand-breaded. the result? wendy’s fillet is a much tastier, much crispier fillet- and with noticeably fresher tasting fish. it actually makes mcdonald’s fillet taste worse in a side-by-side comparison.

the one thing wendy’s fillet doesn’t win over, is mcdonald’s famous cheeseburger bun. the soft, sweet bun still triumphs over wendy’s classic “just bread” bun they use for all their other sandwiches. but the premium doesn’t disappoint. so many other fast food joints put the least amount of effort into the sandwich they believe would never sell past mcdonald’s anyways. i hope this is a permanent addition to their menu.

macbook air sucks, please drive that into your head lest the mactard zombies get to you and perhaps make you think otherwise.

articles like the recent lenovo thinkpad x300 review on the all things digital site- where the apple worshiper, mossberg, gives a good review on a non-apple product and yet decides to also throw in some of his apple shtick.

It isn’t as sexy or inexpensive as the MacBook Air“. 1, the lenovo is a business computer. it’s not designed to physically attract potential clients, or for you to have sex with it. so for that reason, i don’t know why you would want a business computer to be “sexy”.

and 2, as inexpensive as the macbook air? are you blind, old man? the $2500 lenovo “stripped-down” model still has more features than the $3000 comparable macbook air. but what does he do? he deceivingly compares it to both macbook air’s. like they’re a single entity. but perhaps quickly realizing the fallacy of his mention, he covers it with:

But Apple also has a much more affordable $1,799 model with an 80-gigabyte standard hard disk. Lenovo doesn’t.” well, because lenovo isn’t interested in offering a piece of crap computer with a rip-off price tag. $1,799 is affordable? HAHHAHA affordable?!? listen, you can sprinkle sugar on horse s*** all you want, it’ll still taste like it. let’s see, do i want to pay over $3,000 for crap? or do i want to pay $1,799 for crap? ohhhhh ho ho so many choices!

here’s the unfiltered truth: the 2.0ghz with a 64gb ssd lenovo is $2,500. the 1.8ghz with a 64gb ssd macbook air is $3,000 (it’s more than that but i’ll round down). and then, when this is SUPPOSED to be a lenovo review- he somehow magically turns the entire topic into a mac ad. just like that.

There are two more factors worth mentioning. I believe that both the Mac operating system and the software that comes with it are superior to the Windows operating system and built-in software offered on the ThinkPad. And the Mac isn’t susceptible to the vast majority of viruses and spyware, and doesn’t require third-party security software.

no mossberg, it’s not worth mentioning because this isn’t supposed to be an apple ad. if i wanted your personal opinion about macs and windows, i would like the option of going to that page myself, thanks. however, i clicked on lenovo thinkpad x300. not macbook and lenovo, not lenovo vs. macbook, just lenovo. alone. i just want to know about lenovo. i can make my own decision of which one is “superior” when you give me the raw facts.

but then, if you give me just the raw facts…  the macbook air isn’t superior is it? ;) it’s actually quite gutless compared to the lenovo and lo and behold, that’s something you would never intend. and so you give your two cents to try, in an already defeated but still holding onto the sinking ship manner, to sway the positives back towards the macbook. is it a successful move? oh i’m sure. to thousands of mactards out there, you’ve probably done them a service- justifying the purchase of such a mysteriously incompetent apple product.

to people looking for the best bang-for-buck business computer? yeah the lenovo is 10, no 20 times better than anything the macbook air could be. music world? apple is king. business? windows is near deity so all of your “superior” third party apps might have some issues with compatibility with the rest of the business world. besides, most popular office suite on a mac: microsoft office. *shrug* it just works.

blu-ray_hd_dvd_war.jpgbiggest news tonight: toshiba gives up. that’s right. HD-DVD has lost the war and Bluray is now the standard format by which we all delight in high definition movies. and i couldn’t be happier, obviously.

unlike you posers, however, cheering from the sidelines – or late adopters, buying the cheaper ps3 during half-time, i bought the ps3 near launch-date. ok i bought it to help a friend out who was having trouble reselling it but still – i believed in bluray from the beginning.

i believed when it didn’t look good, HD-DVD’s at the time looked better, were a bit cheaper, and was backed by microsoft (or semi-backed) who could, if they wanted to, buy out bluray technology just to scrap it.

but… bluray was backed by panasonic, samsung, pioneer, philips, hitachi, sharp- dell and hp, walt disney, mitsubishi. i didn’t even know mitsubishi even made dvd players anymore. but basically you have all these companies that build dvd players backing your product, yeah it’s not tough to see down the road. and did i forget to mention apple?

sure, apple didn’t do that much to help (could’ve released a few bluray macs but noooo- seems it was too risky of a move for apple…   oh and macbook air wasn’t?) but i guess they’re gonna add bluray options to their macs now right? well only time will tell- apple seems to have a history of doubting anyone else’s technology besides their own.

the rise of ps3 sales probably helped contribute to the sudden rise in bluray sales. cuz even though the world isn’t ready for HD yet, the world is more than ready for ps3. if sony had focused more on releasing the latest and greatest games earlier on, i don’t even think you would know what “HD-DVD” is right now.

but as it stands, bluray passes the test – the format worthy of the near future. and despite all i’ve heard from believers of HD-DVD (basically people who bought into the HD-DVD hype already, or pepole who were looking at the market from a really traditional angle), they didn’t see the threat of how quickly something like the ps3 market can come alive. they’ve never experienced call of duty 4 multiplayer, or the magic of uncharted. and they don’t know that people will buy a $500 console for the sake of a single game. gran turismo 5, metal gear 4, grand theft auto 4. final fantasy. and that’s sony’s left hook.

long live bluray. or, at least until ultra high definition is let out of its cage.
