yeah i know, three posts in the same day is a bit excessive but something really struck me as odd. how is it that r.kelly is the “king of r&b”? who exactly proclaimed that? himself?
isn’t brian mcknight the king of r&b? or is there some kind of official mark-up for titles and they have to be evenly distributed? like MJ is the king of pop, so andy warhol is the prince of pop- and even though warhol doesn’t even make music, mike would just sue him all the same.
but i dunno, i think this is more of a lil wayne vs. jay-z type of thing- where jay-z is the best rapper alive and lil wayne proclaims himself the best rapper alive. cuz honestly i’ve only heard one person refer to r.kelly as the king of r&b and that would be mr. r.kelly himself.
well, whatever- mcknight should be the king of r&b, especially after r.kelly’s “urban opera” frankenstein.
