last night, friend upped his laptop to vista. the result?

zereton (12:31:37 PM): i like vista
zereton (12:32:03 PM): its just cleaner
zereton (12:32:17 PM): its marginally faster than xp
zereton (12:32:21 PM): which is weird
cforcalvin (12:32:32 PM): on a fast computer, vista’s faster- on a slower computer xp’s faster
cforcalvin (12:32:36 PM): i… dont get how that works
zereton (12:32:34 PM): xp would randomly have sluggish moments
zereton (12:32:40 PM): but vista just goes
cforcalvin (12:32:48 PM): yeah the interface works harder
zereton (12:32:48 PM): alt tabbing out of warcraft is crazy faster

of all the nay-saying going on about vista, this and that, i have to wonder if people aren’t just doing it cuz it’s something to do. shrug, maybe it’s a good idea to check things out before joining the blind chant of the masses.

“cal, you know i’ve always loved reading your posts. but a part of me really misses the biblical and spiritual posts back in the days.”

well
i wouldn’t exactly say they were spiritual messages in the same way you are describing them- they were rants. that’s kind of what this blog is about mostly: ranting about norms and questioning authority and all that good stuff. i can say it’s spiritual in the sense that i believe in God and my knowledge and faith leads me to complain about the world ;) but see, the faith is infused in me. i don’t see myself as sometimes doing “spiritual” posts because i don’t segregate what is a spiritual post and what isn’t. all these posts are the same to me.

for example, when i complain about Bush or Apple or Google- what makes that different from when i complain about atheists or muslims? the same faith guides all posts- it’s who i am so whatever i say reflects that faith. how many blogs out there have something bad to say about Apple? wouldn’t it be easier to just follow the trends and the masses and line up for freakin 5 hours to buy something i don’t need?

in fact, i think the problem is the segregating of posts. putting my posts in different categories thinking that i sometimes do a christian related post and sometimes i don’t. i am christian. i don’t stop thinking about God when it’s not sunday. when i’m messing around with my new camera i’m not excluding God. His agenda is already a part of me that any photo i take would honor and reflect that. if that weren’t true, i guarantee you the photos i’d be taking would take on a very very different nature ;)

consider the fact that anyone who sings songs to God is placed in the christian category. and the songwriters who are in those categories have their cd’s filled with only praise songs. i’m not saying that’s bad but come on- you never have a sad moment? or a period of struggle? why can’t one song be a praise to God and another song be about a girl who left him? on the same cd? my opinion is it’s better to be known as a songwriter who’s christian, than to be a songwriter who only writes what the world would put aside as “christian” music.

and like i said, it’s perfectly good to want to praise God 100% of the time…  but as a songwriter and a human being, be honest. you feelin some pain? sing about that too. king David did. not all of his songs are happy and i consider it a travesty that only the happy ones got turned into hymns ;(

what’s the deal with stamps? i bought one page of stamps not too long ago- one page. and before i can finish using it, the prices upped another cent.

why are prices increasing? it’s snail-mail. if they wanna compete, shouldn’t it be getting cheaper and faster. email is free and it’s instantaneous- snail-mail should be at least next day standard. at least. it’s been a 3-day minimum since i was five. it’s 2008 and snail mail hasn’t changed, how does it stand a chance when you can email someone from your phone in the bathroom taking a deuce and you’ll get an email back before you can wipe?

it’s 2008. compete, postal service, compete.
