i’m trying really really hard to not be swayed into the stereotype that women are bad drivers…

but almost being killed twice by two different female drivers this morning alone, it’s tough not to.

the first one was a white woman in her 40′s in a Lexus SUV- coming the opposite way, denied me my right of way and made a left turn almost hitting me. i seriously slammed on the brakes on my bike and fortunately the harley’s balance of traction was spot-on. she didn’t even look. there wasn’t a crosswalk so i had no intention to stop- if my reflexes were shoddy this morning i wouldn’t be typing this, i guarantee it. she made that left turn super fast and super blind.

driver #2 is an asian lady once again in an SUV. she’s in the right lane, i’m in the middle and about to pass her. with no signal and no warning, she darts that huge SUV into my lane just like that forcing me to edge quickly close to the left lane to dodge her. i move up to her side window and look- a 30 something year old (or 40, you can’t tell with asians) woman with both hands on the 12 o’clock position and her body leaned up all the way forward to the steering wheel. looks like a careful driver, and yet completely oblivious to her peripheral. she most likely didn’t even see me on the side, watching her in awe.

so the lesson learned: if you see a woman driving a vehicle 10 times her size, be on guard. it’s like a monkey carrying a gun- very dangerous and very unruly.

i’ve been using dairy half n half for my morning cup of coffee for the last month or so and decided to try that flavored non-dairy creamer (like carnation’s). the results were interesting: the flavored creamer makes good coffee tastes like crap (literally)…  but it makes cheap-o folder’s tastes good.

half n half makes good coffee taste good, and cheap-o folder’s taste even cheaper.

and if you try cheap-o folder’s with cheap powdered non-dairy creamer, it tastes like muddy water.
