why does common look the same in every movie? bald, with the same beard style and his staple kangol. smokin’ aces, street kings, wanted, even in the new terminator.

maybe once i’d like to see him play a character that requires him to shave his beard, or grow it out. somethin. remember american gangster?

a period film. everyone was dressed up and done-up to look like they’re from the 60′s… except common. common looked like he walked right off the street and right onto the set. this is the 60′s and everybody here is in the 60′s, and there’s common. from the future. someone give him a wig or maybe a hat that isn’t a kangol.
and he wasn’t the only rapper in the movie- t.i. was in it and they grew his hair out. i wasn’t even sure if it was t.i. until i read the credits. it’s obviously a deliberate move, to retain common’s iconic presence but for what reason? just for the sake of being iconic? you don’t have to sell the movie with “featuring common”- it’s got denzel and crowe in it already. “featuring common” is gonna bring it down, no offense.
but then hollywood’s marketing department is pretty stupid anyways- “Drag Me To Hell!… from the director of Spiderman” are you serious? didn’t he also direct The Gift? another thriller/horror? why not advertise that?
“Star Trek… from the director of Lost” who cares. the hell does Lost have anything to do with Star Trek?? shouldn’t someone be fired for something like that?
